It hardly seems possible that a year has passed since the murder of George Floyd by a white police officer, a murder which led to a global outpouring of grief and frustration with a system stacked with systemic racism.

Today is the one year anniversary of the killing of George Floyd. Reflecting on the past year as an ally, I have learned a lot, heard a lot of moving and inspiring personal stories, and have been outraged on many occasions.

Taking place from the 1st to the 7th of February, Race Equality Week is a UK-wide initiative uniting hundreds of organisations and individuals in activity to address the barriers facing race equality in the workplace. There are three key ways to get involved:

Young people look and consider the world in which they are growing up. They will judge us on how we answer the questions about why black people are impacted more by such heinous acts and on how we react to the pernicious sense of injustice, as shown by the case of George Floyd.
